North Carolina's native son...Dr. Billy Graham grew up on a dairy farm in Charlotte, NC, and went on to become the greatest evangelist of our time. The interactive museum with the theme "A Journey of Faith" has state-of-the-art exhibits that showcase the life and ministry of Billy Graham. Included are the Museum, Billy Graham boyhood home, and the Ruth Bell Graham gravesite.
On a flight from New York to Charlotte, NC, Captain "Sully" Sullenburger brought the crippled US Airways flight 1549 jet to a safe landing in the icy waters of the Hudson River. Miraculously not a single life was lost due to the calmness and experience of this now famous pilot and his crew! Now you can be one of the first people to see the aircraft at its new permanent home – the Carolina's Aviation Museum in Charlotte. Along with the "Miracle on the Hudson" jet, we'll see lots of other military and civilian aircraft, helicopters and a reproduction of the Wright Brothers 1902 glider that eventually led to the first powered flight that gave North Carolina it's claim as "First in Flight"
Our final stop today is at the Concord Mills Outlet Mall for some shopping before boarding the motor coach for home. |
